Senior Quality Engineer - Metal Fab (open to Relo)

The Senior Quality Engineer - Metal Fab will be responsible for ensuring quality standards and processes are met in a manufacturing environment, focusing on metal fabrication. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with a strong commitment to quality and continuous improvement. Description Develop and implement quality assurance processes to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements. Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to resolve quality issues in metal fabrication processes. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve product quality and manufacturing efficiency. Perform audits on production processes to ensure adherence to established quality standards. Train and mentor staff on quality procedures and best practices. Analyze data and generate reports to monitor quality performance and identify improvement opportunities. Oversee supplier quality assurance processes and maintain strong vendor relationships. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and reduce waste. Profile 7‑10+ years of progressive experience in quality engineering focusing on manufacturing quality within the electrical industry or a related industry. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a similar technical field required. Experience in production sheet metal from a quality/operational perspective. Advanced knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and tolerance stack‑up analysis. Demonstrated track record of leading and successfully completing large‑scale quality improvement projects. Proven ability to solve complex quality problems and implement effective process improvements. Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS), including ISO 9001. Demonstrated experience in process analytics with a broad knowledge of quality tools and industry metrics. Six sigma experience preferred. Experience supporting RMA/Non‑conforming material/Rejects (NMR) activities with interdepartmental coordination. Great project management skills, able to successfully lead project teams through ambiguity and constantly changing business needs. Sound interpersonal skills to establish meaningful relationships built on mutual trust and respect, navigate and resolve conflict, moderate behaviors, and foster collaborative working relationships among a diverse audience. Job Offer Salary ranging from $110,000 to $160,000 depending on relevant experience and interviews. ~10% bonus annually. Specification & Documentation Oversight: Review technical drawings and acceptance criteria for accuracy, managing nonconformances, deviations, and dispositions to maintain quality standards. Quality Methodologies Deployment: Implement advanced quality tools and methodologies, enabling operations teams to adopt and sustain improved practices. Cross‑Functional Project Management: Lead large‑scale quality initiatives across multiple departments, ensuring alignment, execution, and successful outcomes. Operational Quality Partnership: Deliver expert quality support to manufacturing teams, resolving critical issues and driving continuous improvement through structured problem‑solving approaches. Data‑Driven Improvement: Leverage quality metrics and feedback to uncover opportunities for product and process enhancements, supporting informed decision‑making.
