Job Title: Warehouse Worker 1st Shift Job Description

This role supports a large distribution center by performing a variety of warehouse tasks based on operational needs. You will load and unload trailers, pick and pack orders, manage inventory, and assist with special projects as assigned. The position requires flexibility, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of safety and accuracy.

• Load and unload trailers manually while safely handling merchandise.
• Pick, inspect, and verify products to accurately fulfill customer orders.
• Prepare and package orders for shipment, ensuring quality, accuracy, and proper labeling.
• Stock, organize, and replenish inventory to maintain product availability and efficient workflow.
• Route completed orders to the appropriate department or shipping area.
• Maintain and update pick locations using warehouse reports and inventory information.
• Sort, process, label, and ticket merchandise for distribution and retail locations.
• Process customer returns and ensure proper handling and disposition of returned products.
• Clean, inspect, and repair various reel models, including determining warranty eligibility when applicable.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with facility standards.
• Cross-train in other departments as needed to support overall distribution center operations.
• Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.

• At least 1 year of experience in loading and unloading, general labor, or warehouse work.
• Proficiency with order picking and packing in a distribution or warehouse environment.
• Ability to use RF scanners for picking, inventory, and order processing.
• Experience with material handling equipment such as pallet jacks.
• Basic forklift experience or ability to learn safe forklift operation as required.
• Strong attention to detail when inspecting parts and verifying orders.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, carrying, and standing for extended periods.
• Capability to work effectively on a 1st shift schedule (SunWed, 6:30 a.m. 5:00 p.m.).
• Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Reliability in attendance and punctuality to support consistent warehouse operations.

• Comfort working in a large distribution center environment with a focus on safety and efficiency.
• Ability to clean, inspect, and perform basic repairs on reel models, including assessing potential warranty coverage.
• Willingness to be cross-trained in multiple departments and adapt to changing operational needs.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills to coordinate with other warehouse staff.
• Valid identification required to enter the facility and comply with security protocols.

You will work in a large distribution center environment on a 1st shift schedule, Sunday through Wednesday, from 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The facility emphasizes safety and security, including metal detector screening and security checks before entering the shop floor. Cell phones are not allowed on the shop floor, and you must present a valid ID to enter the building. Only clear bags are permitted inside the facility, with non-clear bags required to remain in your vehicle. The workplace provides a cafeteria-style meal room offering hot meals at low cost, free lunch on your birthday, free coffee and popcorn daily, and a canteen vending machine with additional food options. You will use typical warehouse tools and equipment such as RF scanners, pallet jacks, and other material handling devices while working in a fast-paced, structured environment focused on safety, accuracy, and efficiency.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Prairie Du Chien, WI.

The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $17.50/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
