The Janitor will be responsible for helping to maintain an attractive, clean, and comfortable environment to meet the needs of our residents. Primary Responsibilites: * Exemplify at all times community standards of cleanliness, sanitation and organization.

• Maintains floors and carpets.
• Picks up and removes trash.
• Maintains all equipment and supplies in proper condition.
• Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned.
• Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements: * Someone who can understand and follow instructions and communicate effectively. * Has knowledge of cleaning equipment and cleaning chemicals/solvents and demonstrated ability to work safely with them.

• Can learn the methods of cleaning and caring for buildings and equipment.
• Work as a team member in a structured working environment
• Can handle multiple tasks and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
• Three to six months experience in housekeeping or custodial position

preferred. Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: Moderate to heavy physical effort 95% of the workday. Must be able to stand and walk long distances up to 8 hours per day. Must be able to stoop and work from a kneeling position; perform repetitive bending, reaching, and stretching. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. independently. Must be able to push and/or pull wheeled carts and equipment weighing up to 100 lbs. over tiled and carpeted surfaces over long distances. Must be able to operate a vacuum, work in confined spaces around furniture and breakable objects, and have constant contact with residents. May be exposed to communicable diseases.
