Overview:

The Junior Estimator will assist the Lead Estimator with takeoffs and proposals, manage Excel sheets, and attend site visits and client meetings as necessary. This position is based full time onsite at our Astoria office and will report to the Office Manager. Resume and references are required and there will be a three month trial basis.

Responsibilities:

-Must have Experience as part of a Construction company.

-Must have Knowledge in doing takeoffs and putting together accurate proposals and bid packages from architectural drawings & shop tickets.

-Will solicit and evaluate pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.

-Adept in using Excel with working knowledge / experience in Bluebeam and AutoCAD.

-Will prepare detailed and accurate material takeoffs for stone fabrication & installation projects.

-Attend site visits, client meetings, and preconstruction meetings as necessary.

-Utilize Excel to develop and maintain estimating database on historical cost information and track bid results.

-Experience in PhotoShop is a plus.

-Highly self motivated, detail-oriented, and results-driven individual.

-Ability to problem solve, prioritize and multitask / to think on their feet.

-People friendly / Approachable personality / Works well with Clients.

-Excellent verbal & written communication skills.

-College degree in Engineering or Architecture is a plus.
