We are seeking an experienced, driven Senior Civil or Environmental Engineer (PE) to join our dynamic team in the Sarasota / Lakewood Ranch / Tampa market. In this role, you will lead complex engineering design projects, mentor junior engineering talent, and serve as a key technical liaison for clients, local municipalities, and regulatory agencies.

Key Responsibilities

• Design Leadership: Oversee and deliver complete civil/environmental engineering packages, including site layout, grading, stormwater management systems, utilities (water/wastewater), and environmental permitting.

• Project Management: Manage project scopes, schedules, and budgets from initial conceptual planning through final construction administration.

• Regulatory & Permitting Navigation: Direct preparation of permit applications for local municipalities, Water Management Districts (SWFWMD), FDEP, FDOT, and USACE.

• Quality & Engineering QA/QC: Perform rigorous technical reviews, calculations, and seal design drawings and specifications as the Engineer of Record (PE).

• Client & Stakeholder Interaction: Serve as the primary technical contact for clients, developers, municipal staff, and public agency representatives.

• Team Mentorship: Supervise, mentor, and guide staff engineers, designers, and CADD technicians to foster professional growth across the team.

Qualifications & Skill Requirements

• Education: Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related discipline from an ABET-accredited institution.

• Licensure: Active Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license required (or current out-of-state PE with immediate eligibility for Florida licensure by comity).

• Experience: 8 to 15 years of progressive experience in civil site design, municipal infrastructure, stormwater modeling, or water/wastewater systems.

• Software Proficiency: Hands-on expertise with Civil 3D, ICPR4, HydroCAD, WaterCAD, or similar industry-standard design and modeling tools.

• Local Market Knowledge: Strong familiarity with Florida land development regulations, SWFWMD permitting processes, and local Gulf Coast municipal standards.

• Communication & Leadership: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with proven experience presenting to approval boards and managing project teams.
