Director of Data Engineering

Leading a team of approximately 10 engineers and QA professionals, the full-time remote Director of Data Engineering will oversee the enterprise data platform's lifecycle, manage architectural strategies, and ensure data infrastructure aligns with operational and strategic goals. Key responsibilities Lead, mentor, and develop the data engineering and QA team, focusing on performance management and capacity planning Own the architectural vision and platform evolution roadmap for the enterprise data platform, ensuring scalability and compliance Oversee the design and maintenance of production ETL pipelines, ensuring high reliability and performance across data processing operations Required qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field; experience may substitute for education 6+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering or data architecture roles 3+ years of direct people management experience leading technical teams Expert-level SQL proficiency and working knowledge of Python for data engineering Experience with cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift) at enterprise scale Virtual Vocations Inc
