About the Position

Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician II Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: Sterile Processing Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Mid Hours per Shift: 8 hours (14:30 - 23:00) Experience: Minimum of 4 years required (preferably 5 years) License: Pending State License accepted Certifications: IAHCSMM/HSPA, CRCCST Must-Have: Teaching hospital experience Community hospital experience Description: The Sterile Processing Technician II position involves working during the mid-shift. Daily average surgical case volume is 40. The average daily tray volume is 250. There are 14 operating rooms available. Candidates with teaching and community hospital experience are preferred. First timers are accepted for this position. Knowledge of instrument tracking using CensiTrac is required. Experience with sterilization equipment including Steris and Sterrad is necessary. Familiarity with decontamination equipment such as Steris is mandatory. Experience with cleaning equipment like crash carts, IV pumps, and PCA pumps is essential. Ability to perform high-level disinfection (HLD) is required. Experience with various surgical specialties including general, laparoscopic, neurology, orthopedics, plastics, robotics, and urology is preferred. Candidates should be knowledgeable about biological and chemical indicators. Understanding of flash sterilization and steam sterilization testing/monitoring is crucial. Travelers may float within the service line as needed. No weekend requirements exist for this role. No on-call responsibilities are expected.
