Performances at the Kimmel Center and Temple’s Performing Arts Center Full Calendar year of contracted teaching commitments Develop opportunities to increase your visibility andinfluence in the performingarts Learn from a core group of experienced educators in effective urban approaches and networking throughoutthePYOMIcalendar of operations and professional development Responsibilities: Unwavering commitment to the calendar of operations, concerts, rehearsals, and communication requests Coordinate with program faculty to meet student learning benchmarks and carry out shared pedagogical approaches Develop creative and challenging lessonplans in advanceof daily classeswithregularstaff meetings Learn, understand, and represent the program’sphilosophies of uplifting youths, families, and communities through the pursuit of musical excellence Lead group classesfor elementary and/or middle school cohorts andassistwith ensemblerehearsals and program events Participatein program events such asmonthly convening ofprofessional developmentmeetings both in-person and virtual inandinconcertsthroughout the Philadelphia area Have the ability tosolely manage a classroom of studentsand commitment to a calendar year Have the ability toreport directly to Tune Up Philly directorand respond to all correspondence ina timelyfashion Qualifications: Passion for music and the arts as a vehicle for positive social change Excellent musicianshipin performance Multi-instrumental teaching experience a plus At least two years teaching experience with beginners and ingroup classes Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team Ability tobe flexible and capable of working in challenging environments Excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills Strong knowledge of standard music pedagogy Ability tooversee groups ofchildrenandteenagers Must have up to date FBI, PA Police Backgroundand Pennsylvania Childlineclearances Experience teaching inout of school time settings (after-school, summer) a plus Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance The Philadelphia Building 1315 Walnut Street, Suite 1101 Philadelphia, PA 19107 email: View email address on click.appcast.io #J-18808-Ljbffr Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance
