Substation Project Manager

Substation Project Manager In HDR’s Power Delivery practice, you will manage Substation projects of all sizes and complexities, domestically and potentially abroad. You will lead teams, oversee project execution, quality control, scope, schedule, and budget, and ensure successful project closeout. Responsibilities Managing and leading projects and programs throughout the entire life cycle. Directing, mentoring, training, and supervising project staff including Engineers, EITs, Coordinators, Designers, CADD Technicians, and administrative team. Providing oversight over workload, schedule, quality, utilization, morale, and performance. Overseeing non‑engineering components such as public engagement, agency engagement, permitting, right‑of‑way acquisition, and construction management. Leading the QA/QC process per HDR’s Quality Management Systems (QMS) requirements. Supporting client management and engaging in business development activities with existing and target clients. Coordinating with Area and Regional leadership and Talent Acquisition to develop hiring plans. Working with staff in multiple offices to execute projects. Representing HDR in marketing and proposal development for new opportunities. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. Minimum of 2 years of project management experience. FE, PE license preferred; PMP considered in lieu of PE. Experience with system planning, communications, distribution, transmission lines, public involvement, environmental permitting, and real estate acquisition. Excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. 7 years of related experience. Minimum 2 years of project management experience. Professional Engineering license recognized in the location of the position (PE, P.Eng, etc.). MS Office and MS Project experience required; Access experience is a plus. Demonstrated leadership skills. Active participation in employee‑owned culture is required.
