About the Position

Job Title: Med Surg RN - Nights Profession: RN Specialty: Med-surg Mother/Baby, Med-surg Adult Duration: Temporary Shift: 7 on, 7 off Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Current, unencumbered RN license Certifications: Current BLS certification; current ACLS and PALS certifications or ability to obtain within one year of hire Must-Have: Willingness to earn NRP certification and provide patient care appropriate to certification within one year of hire Description: Join our Medical Surgical team! This is a great opportunity for a nurse looking to expand their skill sets. You will perform a wide range of general nursing duties. Your role will include providing direct and indirect patient care in the medical-surgical department. You will care for a diverse patient population, from post-partum neonates to geriatrics. Specific responsibilities will include medical, surgical, high acuity, rehabilitative, skilled, and pediatric care. Due to the location, you will have a chance to address a variety of patient needs, ages, and acuities. There are opportunities to expand into post-partum care and infusion and wound therapies. You may also cross-train in the Emergency Department and/or PACU. This position requires knowledge of infection control principles, patient safety techniques, and adverse reaction prevention. Demonstrated critical thinking skills are essential. You should be able to maintain composure in rapidly changing situations. Self-motivation and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are important. Strong customer service and communication skills, including oral, written, and listening abilities, are vital. You must handle sensitive information professionally and maintain confidentiality. You should be able to manage stressful situations calmly and professionally. Reliability and timeliness with your work schedule are expected.
