Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Critical Care Float Pool experience.

• Travel experience is required within the last 12 months.

• 3 months of Epic experience is preferred.

• Trauma Level 2 experience is required.

• BSN completion required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a California license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <75 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• COVID booster required after submission. Declinations not accepted.

RNs only: If CA state licensure is 3 months or less from expiration, proof that the renewal process has been initiated is required to apply.

You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

Required Skills/Experience: Experience with ECMO, IABP, Impella, LVAD, CRRT, and PA catheters is required.

Preferred Skills/Experience: 2.5 years of ICU experience preferred. Variety in critical care experience preferred: med/surg, cardiac, neuro. Recent Float Pool, PACU, or Emergency Room experience preferred. Teaching hospital experience is preferred.

Special Requests: Please submit all RTO at time of offer. RTO sent after contract is signed will not be considered. Please add RTO time back to the end of the contract.

Unit Details: Adult and geriatric patient population. Typical staffing ratio is 1:2 on days, nights, and weekends.

Shift & Scheduling: 12-hour rotating day/night shifts; one 4-week schedule cycle will be either shift, but may switch to the opposite shift in another schedule cycle depending on need. Shift hours are 07:00-19:30 and 19:00-07:30.

Floating Requirements: Must have the ability to float to other UCSF facilities and departments, including Parnassus, Mission Bay, and Mount Zion. This is a float pool position, not unit based: ICU RNs float to all TCUs and ICUs, ED, and PACU. RNs may float to Acute Care/Tele/TCU units with up to 3:1 assignment. Travel RNs can be assigned to ED for boarded patients or assist with tasks in PACU for boarded patients.

• AUTO OFFER - NO INTERVIEW : This is an auto-offer position. You will likely not interview with the facility prior to receiving an offer. However, an interview can be arranged upon request. All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment. Any offers for this job will require a clear “Yes” or “No” response from the nurse within 24hrs or the offer must be declined.

7 days maximum time off. Facility holidays: 11/26/2026, 12/25/2026, 01/01/2027. Number of holidays allowed off: 1
