Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity as an Occupational Therapist working within an elementary school setting. Located near Hamburg, NY, this role offers you a chance to make a meaningful impact while focusing on early childhood and elementary student development. The assignment is set to run from Tuesday, September 8, 2026, through Friday, October 30, 2026, with potential for extension.
You’ll engage with a dedicated and welcoming educational team, providing targeted occupational therapy services to students at the elementary level. Your schedule will be predictable and manageable: 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, three days a week, supporting approximately 30 individualized therapy sessions, each lasting 30 minutes.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Hold a valid Occupational Therapist license in New York State.
- Previous experience in a school-based setting strongly preferred.
- Expertise in providing OT services tailored to children in grades Pre-K through 5.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to partner with educators, families, and support staff.
- Organizational abilities to effectively manage scheduling and documentation requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct engaging, evidence-based OT sessions designed to enhance students’ functional skills and classroom participation.
- Assess and document student progress, providing recommendations for classroom accommodations as needed.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and school staff to ensure continuity of care and support for students.
- Maintain professional documentation in alignment with school and state requirements.
- Communicate regularly with families regarding goals and student progress.
