Connectomics Research Associate (SRA II) – UCLA Health – Los Angeles, CA This position has a fixed hybrid schedule that requires on-site work 4 days per week. Key Responsibilities Primarily support highly technical and complex wet laboratory research procedures for projects with aggressive federally funded milestones through histological procedures and analyses utilizing animals. Collaborate with principal investigator and other researchers to plan, design and conduct highly technical and complex research projects and experiments, as needed. Develop workflows to meet all deadlines. Identify appropriate species, time needed to perform the studies, the resources needed, and the personnel required to complete all projects and experiments. Qualifications Previous experience in Connectomics. Knowledge of neurosurgery and stereotactic ICV implantation. Effective organizational skills in wet laboratory administration. Basic functional understanding of the research concerns related to the effects of perinatal ethanol exposure on certain neuroendocrine, neuroimmune, behavioral and neurochemical indices of central nervous system development and function. Technical expertise and working knowledge of neuroanatomy, biochemistry and physiology. Experience in training staff and student workers as needed. Demonstrated ability to interpret data critically, prepare manuscripts and present findings at scientific meetings. Highly specialized technical histological skills and functional knowledge. Broad theoretical and practical knowledge of standard organic, physical and analytical chemical methods.
