What you'll do:

• Assist in surgical procedures as a Surgical First Assistant, including wound cauterization, vessel management, clamping, suturing, and skin closure.
• Provide comprehensive care on the medical-surgical floor, including rounding, managing orders, discharges, and consults.
• Support patients across General Surgery, OB/GYN, and Orthopedic units, ensuring optimal outcomes.
• Help immobilize patients during procedures and contribute to achieving hemostasis.
• Participate in both operating room and patient floor coverage, with flexible scheduling to meet department needs.
• Contribute to a collaborative team environment dedicated to exceptional patient care.

Required Skills:

• Proven experience as a Nurse Practitioner, preferably with recent surgical or perioperative background.
• Demonstrated proficiency with wound management, suturing, and hemostasis techniques.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment.
• Current valid license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in New York State.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, ATLS (American Heart Association or equivalent).
• Minimum of 2 years recent relevant clinical experience.
• Comfortable working in both operating room and medical-surgical settings.

Nice to Have Skills:

• Prior experience in robotics-assisted surgeries.
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic health record system.
• Ability to assist with patient positioning and intraoperative procedures.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including day, evening, weekends, and call coverage.

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• At least 2 years of post-licensure clinical experience in surgical or perioperative care.
• Proven record of excellent patient communication and team collaboration.

• Must be able to pass background checks and maintain all required certifications.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and on-call shifts.
