Talascend is currently seeking an HVAC/R Service Engineer for an opportunity in Dayton, Ohio. Overview
The role involves operating, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and production equipment within assigned facilities to ensure optimal performance, safety, and energy efficiency. The technician will perform inspections, troubleshoot issues, and perform repairs to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.

The role involves operating, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and production equipment within assigned facilities to ensure optimal performance, safety, and energy efficiency. The technician will perform inspections, troubleshoot issues, and perform repairs to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
Responsibilities
- Operate, inspect, and maintain HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems in assigned facilities.
- Perform preventative maintenance and respond to repair work orders for facility systems and equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of operational activities and repairs, including updating work order statuses in real time.
- Utilize CMMS systems such as Corrigo for all maintenance tasks.
- Perform facility inspections and document conditions impacting operations.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety standards and energy efficiency practices.
- Possess and maintain a valid state driver's license and be available for call-in work.
- Minimum of four (4) years of technical experience in building engineering, with strong background in HVAC/R, plumbing, electrical, and equipment maintenance and repair.
- Universal CFC recovery certification (or within 90 days of employment).
- Knowledge of system design, troubleshooting, and maintenance of commercial and supermarket refrigeration systems.
- Experience utilizing CMMS (Work Order) systems.
- Working knowledge of computer applications such as Word and Excel.
- Two years of trades school or documented apprenticeship in electrical systems, refrigeration, and HVAC.
