Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and highly skilled Psychiatrist (MD/DO) to provide psychiatric consultations and treatment services to residents in skilled nursing and long-term care facilities. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with facility staff, residents, families, and the broader clinical team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered behavioral health care.

You will receive full administrative support while enjoying the flexibility and autonomy of a contract-based clinical practice. Responsibilities

• Work closely and collaboratively with nursing home staff, residents, families, and members of the interdisciplinary care team.
• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and ongoing assessments.
• Diagnose and manage psychiatric and behavioral health conditions.
• Proactively follow up with patients and assess the effectiveness of prescribed treatments and interventions.
• Prescribe, manage, and monitor psychiatric medications as clinically appropriate.
• Develop individualized psychiatric treatment plans based on each patient's clinical needs.
• Provide education and guidance to facility staff and families regarding psychiatric conditions, treatment plans, and best practices.
• Round at assigned skilled nursing and long-term care facilities and provide psychiatric treatment recommendations.
• Integrate pharmacological and behavioral interventions, emphasizing non-pharmacological treatments whenever clinically appropriate.
• Maintain timely, accurate, and comprehensive clinical documentation.

Requirements

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
• Completion of an accredited psychiatry residency program
• Active and unrestricted New York State medical license
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
• Active DEA registration and ability to prescribe medications as required
• Ability to travel to assigned facilities in and around New Rochelle, New York
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities
• Strong psychiatric evaluation, diagnostic, and patient assessment skills
• Strong, ambitious, patient-centric work ethic
• Experience working with geriatric, skilled nursing, or long-term care populations preferred
• Prolonged sitting and computer work, including keyboard and mouse use for extended periods. Ability to perform the physical requirements necessary to provide patient care.
