Infusion RN II- PRN- McKinney

Overview Texas Oncology is looking for an Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at the McKinney location. This is a PRN (As Needed) position with a minimum of 24 hours per month. Typical hours are Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm. No weekends, on call, or major holidays. Responsibilities Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote continuity of care. Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and instructional materials. Prepare and administer therapies under physician direction and supervision. Administer all medications and blood products using correct dosage, route, time and technique. Ensure pre-authorization and consent forms are obtained prior to therapy administration. Facilitate dose modifications: assess patient, labs, consult protocol, calculate dose, and consult physician. Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports and maintain central line catheter devices. Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and treatments. Apply knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture. Qualifications Education and Experience: Graduate from an accredited professional nursing program; BSN preferred. RN state license and current registration with state board. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Entry level: 0-3 years nursing experience, oncology experience strongly preferred. Minimum three (3) years nursing experience, oncology experience strongly preferred. Minimum five (5) years nursing experience, including at least one year in oncology strongly preferred; oncology certification preferred. Working Conditions The work environment includes possible exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations and other common oncology/hematology clinic conditions. Physical Requirements Full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients. Manual and finger dexterity, eye-hand coordination. Standing and walking for extensive periods.
