Delivery Driver

This role delivers food products throughout New York City while providing excellent customer service and supporting warehouse operations. You will load and unload vehicles, manage inventory using a scan gun, and complete assigned routes safely and on time. The position involves regular physical activity and offers opportunities for overtime and long-term growth.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload vans with food items at the production facility and delivery locations.
• Make timely deliveries throughout New York City, following assigned routes across the five boroughs.
• Provide courteous, professional, and customer-focused service at every delivery stop.
• Operate a scan gun to track products and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Keep track of inventory during loading, unloading, and deliveries, and report discrepancies promptly.
• Perform regular lifting, bending, and kneeling to handle products safely and efficiently.
• Drive safely and responsibly while complying with all traffic laws and company guidelines.
• Support route delivery operations, including picking orders, loading trucks, and organizing deliveries.
• Communicate clearly with dispatch, colleagues, and customers regarding delivery status and any issues.
• Arrive on time each day, follow the scheduled hours, and complete routes before ending the shift.
• Assist with general warehouse tasks related to loading, unloading, and transport as needed.

Essential Skills

• At least 2 years of delivery driving experience.
• Experience making deliveries, including route delivery and transport of goods.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and frequent loading and unloading of trucks.
• Comfort driving and operating delivery vehicles in New York City.
• Strong customer service orientation and a professional, respectful demeanor.
• Great communication skills, including clear and courteous interaction with customers and coworkers.
• Consistent punctuality and reliability, with a strong commitment to being on time every day.
• Comfort with physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and kneeling throughout the shift.
• Ability to use a scan gun or similar handheld device to track inventory.
• Driver management and self-management skills to handle routes and time effectively.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Food delivery experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with the five boroughs of New York City is a plus.
• Experience with loading and unloading trucks, including organizing and securing loads.
• Background in retail, customer service, or route delivery environments is beneficial.
• No formal education requirement for this role.
• Respectful attitude and excellent interpersonal communication skills.

Work Environment

This position is based at a production and distribution facility that supplies Asian grocery and produce to food service businesses and direct-to-consumer customers. The on-site team is small and close-knit, with roughly a dozen employees and plans to expand the delivery team. You will work with delivery vans, scan guns, and standard warehouse equipment while handling food products throughout the day. Typical hours are 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., or until all routes are completed, Monday through Saturday, with the option of four-day work weeks. The role is physically active and involves frequent lifting, bending, and kneeling, as well as driving throughout New York City. The dress code is comfortable and practical, such as jeans and a solid color shirt, suitable for warehouse and delivery work.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $37440.00 - $37440.00/yr. Free food during lunch. Great team atmosphere with overtime.
