Job Title

General Manager Duties: As a Front Line Manager you will:

1. Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short-term priorities and prepares schedules for completion of work.
2. Assign work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees.
3. Evaluate work performance of subordinates and makes recommendations for outstanding performance recognition and/or disciplinary action.
4. Give advice, counsel or instruction to employees on work and administrative matters.
5. Interview candidates for positions within the organization/unit and recommend appointment, promotion or reassignment to such positions.
6. Hear and resolve complaints from employees, refer group grievances and/or more serious unresolved complaints as appropriate.
7. Effect minor disciplinary measures, such as warnings and reprimands, recommend other actions in more serious cases.
8. Identify developmental and training needs of employees, providing or arranging for needed development and training.
9. Initiate ways to improve production, work processes and/or to increase the quality of the work directed.

• Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the Internal Revenue Service, ensuring that the Publishing Division complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs. Develops goals and objectives that integrate organization and Publishing Division objectives. Researches, interprets, analyzes and applies United States Code (USC) Title 44, the Joint Committee on Printing's Printing & Binding Regulations, Treasury Directives 78-01 and 78-02, established Publishing Procedures and standards, and the IRM-particularly 1.17.1 through 1.17.10.
• Reviews organization mission, functions, and staffing. Identifies requirements and initiates requests for additional resources including personnel, overtime, equipment, supplies, and space to ensure success in meeting goals and objectives. Provides advice to senior leadership of significant issues and problems related to work accomplishment. Establishes metrics and analysis systems to ensure actions are timely and reviewed at critical points.
• Applies expert knowledge of electronic data systems and management information tools to support program management and operational analysis. Utilizes email systems, presentation software, spreadsheets, and data management applications to communicate program and product information to customers and stakeholders and to measure and evaluate program effectiveness.
