About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Philanthropy Officer (CPO) to lead its most ambitious capital campaign to date. The CPO will be the senior fundraising leader, responsible for the strategy, execution, and performance of all philanthropic revenue in support of the organization's mission and the capital campaign. This role involves working closely with the CEO, Board leadership, and campaign consultants to finalize and refine campaign goals, ensure alignment with donor strategy, and drive overall campaign momentum. The successful candidate will also be tasked with managing a portfolio of high-capacity donors, leading the team in securing major and principal gifts, and fostering a results-oriented, collaborative, and donor-centered team culture. Applicants for the CPO position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree and at least 10 years' progressive fundraising experience, including a proven track record in leading major and principal gift fundraising efforts. The role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and relationship management skills, as well as the ability to engage effectively with Board members and senior stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be highly strategic, with a strong execution discipline, and will have established philanthropic connections in the Central VA area. The CPO will be measured on their success in executing the capital campaign, securing significant revenue, and developing a high-performing, metrics-driven fundraising team.
