Machinist

Job Overview

We are seeking experienced CNC Machinists to join a growing manufacturing team. This position is responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC machinery to manufacture precision metal components while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Ideal candidates will have experience with CNC mills, grinders, lathes, mill-turn machines, or multi-axis equipment in a production or job shop environment. Candidates with strong blueprint reading skills, GD&T knowledge, and experience holding tight tolerances are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and operate CNC machinery including mills, grinders, lathes, and mill-turn equipment
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions
• Utilize G-Code, M-Code, Mazatrol, Fanuc, Okuma, Heidenhain, Celos, or conversational controls
• Perform machine offsets, tooling adjustments, and program edits as needed
• Measure finished parts using precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, gauges, and indicators
• Hold close tolerances and ensure product quality standards are met
• Mount, align, and secure tooling, fixtures, and workpieces
• Inspect completed parts for defects and non-conformance
• Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot machining issues
• Replace tooling, grinding wheels, or inserts as required
• Maintain accurate production and inspection records
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment

Qualifications

• Previous CNC machining experience required
• Experience with CNC mills, OD/ID grinders, lathes, or mill-turn machines preferred
• Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T
• Experience editing programs and making machine offsets
• Strong understanding of machining practices, tooling, and precision measurement
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Technical school or machining certifications are a plus

Preferred Experience

• Mazatrol or Mazak experience
• Fanuc, Okuma, Heidenhain, or Celos controls
• Multi-axis machining experience
• Tight tolerance machining (.0001" preferred)
• Aerospace, industrial, or precision manufacturing background
