Registered Nurse- Acute Neuro Unit

Overview This position leads patient care using the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses and Scope & Standards of Practice. The leader delegates, directs, and assists licensed and ancillary team members, is accountable for quality patient outcomes, and supports the organization’s nursing philosophy. Education Required – Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Preferred – Bachelor’s degree in nursing. Work Experience Required – None. Certifications Required – Current registered nurse (RN) license in the state of practice. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association. Preferred – Certification in a clinical specialty area. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) Proficiency in using computers, software, and web‑based applications. Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally. Strong interpersonal skills. Good organizational and time‑management skills and ability to be self‑directed. Ability to demonstrate good judgement. Job Duties Effectively uses the nursing process to deliver patient care. Assesses learning needs and implements teaching strategies appropriate for diverse patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams. Communicates, delegates, and manages nursing team resources (human and fiscal), serving as a leader and partner on the interdisciplinary team. Uses data, information, and knowledge to evaluate and promote change for optimal outcomes. Embraces concepts and behaviors that enhance customer satisfaction and employee morale. Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including privacy, introduction, explanation of services, and communication style. Performs other related duties as required.
