The Temporary Dean of Culture works to establish and build a unified vision for 7‑12 school culture. The leader develops clear, age‑appropriate expectations that create consistency across middle and high school grades, fostering belonging, trust, and accountability. What You'll Do Build a vision for school culture by fostering student belonging and academic excellence. Design and implement consistent behavior systems and routines for grades 7‑12 that minimize disruptions and support a rigorous academic culture. Monitor culture work at the school, defining clear metrics of success and adapting support based on identified needs. Lead the consistent execution of school‑wide rituals and routines, including celebrations, assemblies, and mentor group recognitions that promote a diverse community. Establish and maintain transparent systems for student accountability that encourage self‑reflection and growth. Assume campus support and leadership roles as needed. Design, build, and facilitate professional development for faculty on school culture. Coach teachers on restorative practices, school‑wide culture initiatives, and mentor practices to strengthen relationships and reinforce community values. Ensure aligned expectations and responses school‑wide to focus on closing student learning gaps. Communicate faculty progress with school leadership. Use attendance, behavior, and climate data to drive quick interventions. Partner with families to improve student engagement and culture. Support student council and other leadership opportunities. Collaborate to prioritize needs and develop action plans for students requiring proactive behavior support. Facilitate and model restorative practices with students and staff to promote growth, agency, and community well‑being. Initiate, track, and complete restorative processes, responding to referrals in a timely manner. Hold restorative student and family intervention sessions, communicate outcomes, collect data, and, when necessary, collaborate with leaders on escalated cases. Bachelor's degree (Master's in Education or participation in the Leadership Fellows program is preferred but not required). Teaching experience within a Summit school or extensive school‑based teaching experience required. Clear health and background check.
