Cnc lathe machinist

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Setup & Machine Operator to join our production team in Beltsville, MD. In this role, you will be responsible for the setup, operation, program editing, and quality inspection of multiple CNC Lathe and Milling machines working with precision metal components.

• ITAR Compliance: Must be a U.S. Person (u.s. citizen, permanent resident/green card holder, Political Asylee, or Refugee) due to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) access requirements.
• Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• Location: Must reside within 50 miles of Beltsville, MD. (No relocation benefits offered).

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of overall manufacturing industry experience.
• 2+ years of direct CNC machine operator/setup experienc

Responsibilities

Position Summary: Candidate will be responsible for set-up and operation of multiple CNC Lathe and Mill machines. Check the quality of finished parts. Fully understands technical drawings, revisions and note codes, uses QC info. Operate machines, and any other calibration equipment such as calipers, wrench, and air gun or any other equipment necessary to perform job functions.

Primary Functions:

Perform set-ups and tool changes for multiple machines with different controls in order to execute a sequence of operations such as turn, drill, and bore a variety of metal components. Modify, edit, download, and upload programs in order to make multiple parts. Perform offset adjustments and utilize proper tooling, such as inserts and cutters, based on print specifications. Interpret technical drawings in accordance with standard shop practices. Train and mentor other operators. Perform other related duties as assigned.

The essential functions of this role include:

• working in a smoke free environment
• wearing steel toe shoes
• manual lifting up to 35lbs
• standing for 8 hours at one time
