Essential Job Functions And Responsibilities

• Assist in designing components and subassemblies using 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred).
• Support validation and testing activities, including basic mechanical and thermal analysis.
• Document technical work including test results, design notes, and engineering changes.
• Participate in cross‑functional team meetings to understand project requirements.
• Collaborate with production and quality teams to address basic engineering issues.
• Adhere to standard operating procedures and ISO guidelines.
• Contribute to product cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives.

Experience And Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 0–2 years of mechanical design experience, internships or co‑ops preferred.

Required Skills

• Basic proficiency in 3D CAD modeling of mechanical components (preferably SolidWorks).
• Understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with engineering documentation and drafting standards.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills.
• Ability to perform basic engineering calculations in solid mechanics and thermal systems.

Preferred Skills

• Exposure to GD‑T principles and tolerance stack‑up basics.
• Familiarity with basic FEA tools or thermal simulation software.
• Experience from internships, co‑ops, or academic projects involving electro‑mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of design controls and ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9001).
