Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Psychiatric (Level 2)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Rotating Shifts (Days, Evenings, Nights) | Onsite | Weekends, Holidays, On-Call, and Callback per Unit Needs

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care on an adult medical/surgical unit serving patients with active co-morbid psychiatric and/or behavioral health conditions
• Adapt to a rotating shift schedule including days, evenings, and nights, as well as weekends and holidays as needed
• Respond to on-call and callback assignments per unit needs
• Deliver care to a varied patient population within a dynamic and evolving unit environment
• Utilize telemetry monitoring skills as part of routine patient assessment and care

Required Qualifications

• Active New York State RN License (NY license required)
• Minimum 2 years of recent medical/surgical nursing experience
• Psychiatric or behavioral health nursing experience required
• Telemetry experience required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in an acute care medical/surgical setting
• Flexibility and enthusiasm for working in a growing, one-of-a-kind unit environment
• Interest in pursuing dual-certification in both medical/surgical and psychiatric nursing
