Non-Clinical - Facilities - Equipment Repair Technician

Job Title: Equipment Tech Location: New York, NY Local, Remote or Hybrid: Local Schedule: Monday through Friday (Rotating Weekends) , 3PM-11PM Contract: TBD Important Call Outs: NYP Vaya Coversheet Required Qualifications Education: HS Diploma/GED Experience: Basic computer knowledge Ability to read, write and follow simple written and oral directives Prior Central Sterile experience Other Requirements: Performs routine tasks to maintain assigned work area to ensure a sanitary patient area, neat and attractive conditions, in accordance with established procedure. Greets patients, visitors and employees conducting oneself in a courteous manner. Identifies self to the patient and explains presence. Responds to inquiries politely and promptly. Refers matters outside the scope of work duties to appropriate others as necessary, keeping patients and others informed as needed. Transports supplies and equipment to be used for cleaning from utility/equipment center area to assigned work area, when required, by pushing/pulling carts or carrying items in accordance with established procedures. Maintains supplies, equipment/furniture by patient bedside, when required, in an orderly manner. Transports dirty equipment from the unit to specified cleaning area and cleans equipment, following infection control regulation procedures as posted in patient rooms and in accordance with established procedure. Returns equipment to appropriate location. Receives deliveries to replenish supplies needed to perform cleaning, repair of equipment, restocking of specialty carts (arrest carts, latex-free carts). Maintains written log of supply status. Marks, sets aside and delivers to Equipment Center broken equipment for repair, and advises Supervisor. Completes inventory slip indicating location of equipment, assessment of needed services and expected completion date. Maintains status review of equipment and may answer questions raised by department(s) regarding the equipment as follow up. Removes instruments and equipment from patient s room by carrying, pushing or pulling and preparing for transportation as required. Follows all risk management/quality assurance safety standards in accordance with established protocols. Cleans various other items, i.e. carts, shelves and other equipment using cleaning solutions as assigned. Performs other job related duties as assigned.
