Location / Shift Work From Home, UK Shift Job Description As an Assistant Accountant, the role will involve performing transactional accounting tasks, including journal entries, accounts payable, and general month-end tasks to finalize accounts every month. Provide support to the Finance Manager and wider team by assisting with day-to-day accounting tasks, month-end processes, reconciliations, and maintaining accurate financial records. Key Responsibilities Finance Operations Sales Ledger: daily invoicing, credit notes, invoice queries, Stripe and Sage Pay transaction processing Purchase Ledger: daily invoice processing and coding, resolving queries, statement reconciliation support weekly/monthly payment runs Support daily banking and reconciliations Full ownership of employee expense claim (with manager approvals) Full ownership of credit card reconciliation and filling Support manufacturing division for all of the above – small turnover of Financial Reporting & Controls Monthly close: Ledger reconciliations. Monthly journals: prepayments We’re looking for a detailed-oriented yet fast worker who Loves solving problems and improving processes Is a natural communicator and keeps teams informed Balances the big picture with hands-on ownership Thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment Requirements Skillsets / Experience Required MS365 (non-negotiable) Sage 50 experience (strongly preferred) Solid finance experience in SMEs or similar-size businesses (£5m–£10m turnover) Understanding of full finance cycle: AP, AR, credit control, reconciliations, reporting, compliance.
