Senior Cost Accountant

Senior Cost Accountant: Browntown, WIWe are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant / Senior Cost Accountant to play a key role in our client’s manufacturing finance team. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting month-end and year-end close activities, and providing critical cost accounting analysis that drives informed business decisions. Working closely with the Controller and cross-functional operations teams, this individual will oversee manufacturing cost analysis, inventory valuation, standard costing, variance reporting, and financial planning while identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency and profitability.Key Responsibilities:Prepare weekly cash flow forecastsGenerate monthly financial reports and plant performance statementsAssist with month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliationsMaintain fixed asset and tooling recordsPrepare for and participate in internal and external financial auditsParticipate in quarterly physical inventories and assist with inventory reconciliationAssist with accounts receivable activities and provide backup support for accounts payable and customer invoicingAnalyze manufacturing costs, including labor, material, and overhead, to ensure accurate product costingMonitor inventory valuation and cost variances, investigating discrepancies and recommending corrective actionsReview manufacturing variances, including labor, scrap, material usage, and production efficiencies, while partnering with operations to identify cost-saving opportunitiesCollaborate with operations, production, and leadership teams to improve financial visibility and support strategic decision-makingSkills & Experience:Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, requiredExperience: 3-5+ years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, requiredKnowledge: Manufacturing processes & how they impact financial performance, requiredSoftware: Microsoft Office Suite proficiency & ERP/MRP experience, requiredWhat We Offer:Medical, Dental, & Vision InsuranceLife & Supplemental Life InsuranceShort & Long-term Disability401(K) w/ company matchPTOPaid HolidaysEAPPPE AllowancesPlease Note: This role does not offer visa sponsorship or relocation assistance.
