Student Assistant - Blue Tie Catering - Food Service Associate (Fall 2026)

Student Assistant

The Student Assistant will support Blue Tie Catering as a Food Service Associate on the Statesboro Campus beginning Fall 2026. This role is an essential part of the catering team, contributing to a smooth catering experience for both the internal and external clients. Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period.

Responsibilities:

• Prepares fresh food items and other prep tasks as needed
• Stocks inventory
• Provides customer service functions such as greeting customers and serving food
• Keeps kitchen and dining areas clean and neat, including sweeping & mopping floors, and assisting within the dish room
• Works with various kitchen equipment
• Empties trash cans
• Performs other various tasks as assigned within dining operations

Shift Specifics: Up to 25 hours per week. Flexible with schedule of availability. Shifts available Sunday - Saturday (event based).

Required Qualifications:

Educational Requirements: Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours or three or more graduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.

Proposed Salary: $10.00 per hour. This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
