The nurse will be responsible for the care of patients receiving chemotherapy and suffering from soft tissue malignancies. Continuous cardiac monitoring will be part of daily activities. Symptom management related to disease treatments will be a focus. Management of comorbidities and infection prevention protocols will be emphasized. The nurse must be able to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity. Daily patient ratios will typically fall at 1:4. The candidate should have experience with high flow nasal cannula and the interpretation of ABGs. Special equipment includes telemetry monitors and bladder scanners. Candidates are expected to have recent acute care experience within the last 12 months. This role requires a commitment to patient safety and high-quality care. Travel candidates need to be prepared for fingerprinting and credentialing as part of the hiring process. Professional references are required, with at least one from a supervisor or manager. Candidates must have education from an accredited nursing program. Overall, this position seeks a dedicated and skilled nurse eager to support patients in a dynamic oncology setting.
