Job Description To provide guests with an outstanding experience through exceptional service while assisting the manager in reaching sales goals and minimizing shrinkage. Teammates will accomplish these goals by preparing quality food and delivering great guest service. Duties and Responsibilities Consistently demonstrate Woods Supermarket D>E service and Hospitality 4. Maintain an enthusiastic customer experience with a focus on fast, friendly, and accurate service. Be courteous and helpful to other teammates. Follow all technical manuals for processing products, including labeling and packaging. Ensure receiving, preparation, conditioning, and display of merchandise complies with company and vendor guidelines. Maintain proper sanitation of department, equipment, food handling, and preparation areas per company policies. Report or correct unsafe conditions that could cause teammate or guest accidents. Report all teammate and guest accidents in accordance with established company policy. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Update displays, cases, and other customer‑facing areas to showcase new items and promotions. Prep, store, rotate, and stock merchandise. Perform miscellaneous tasks assigned by managers, including substituting for absent teammates and providing additional support during peak periods. Other duties as assigned. Work Environment Grocery store setting with variations in heat, cold, dust, and humidity caused by the opening of store entrance doors. Some outside work may be required. Job Qualifications Must be 18 years of age or older. Ability to work independently and within a team. Ability to provide and lead others to provide prompt and courteous guest service. Ability to develop rapport, trust, and open communication. Ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures. Ability to set goals and guide performance to ensure quality and completion of assignments. Ability to evaluate and drive performance of self and others. Ability to understand and apply management principles concerning budgeting, personnel costs, and expenses. Ability to operate a cash register efficiently and accurately. Ability to safely operate equipment such as electric/manual hand jack, floor scrubber, and cardboard baler and perform general cleaning duties. Ability to stay organized and multi‑task in a professional and efficient manner, following instructions and giving attention to detail. Meets any state and local requirements for handling and selling alcoholic beverages. Education and Experience A combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge. Prior food handling experience preferred. Physical Demands Sit, stand, stoop, squat, bend, reach, push, pull, grip, twist, lift, climb, carry, walk, kneel. The teammate must be able to perform the above motions frequently and occasionally under the strength level highlighted on the position’s job description/physical capacity release form. Teammates performing in these roles are required to meet the minimum physical capacity so that they may safely perform their job duties with or without reasonable accommodation. Classification Sedentary – 10 lbs. Light – 20 lbs., 10 lbs. Medium – 20‑50 lbs., 10‑25 lbs. Heavy – 50‑100 lbs., 25‑50 lbs. Very Heavy – 100 lbs+. Equipment Responsibilities for Teammates Age 18 and Older Case cutter, utility knife, forklift (with proper certification), pallet jack, compact baler. Equipment Responsibilities for Teammates Age 18 and Older Who Work in Food Prep Areas Slicer, oven, fryer, knives, mixers. Safety The teammate will not use drugs or alcohol on the job. The teammate will not create a direct threat to the health and safety of others on the job.
