The G. Brint Ryan College of Business is the choice of nearly 9,000 students, making it one of the largest business schools in the nation. The Department of Management within the G. Brint Ryan College of Business (RCOB) at the University of North Texas (UNT) is seeking a full-time Lecturer of Business Communication, a non-tenure-track position.
Lecturers in the RCOB teach multiple courses at the undergraduate and/or graduate level and also serve as respected members of the faculty team and contribute strategically in service activities across the department, college, university, and business community.Minimum Qualifications
• A master’s degree in business, management, communication, organizational communication, professional communication, or a closely related discipline relevant to teaching business communication.
• Meaningful professional experience in a business, management, consulting, corporate, training, leadership development, or related organizational setting.
Preferred Qualifications
• Professional business experience in a communication-intensive capacity, such as corporate communication, consulting, executive communication, leadership communication, management, client relations, training and development, organizational development, sales leadership, public relations, or stakeholder engagement.
• Demonstrated ability to connect business communication instruction to workplace practice through real-world examples, cases, simulations, projects, executive-style briefings, or applied communication assignments.
• Experience designing or delivering training, workshops, seminars, executive education, leadership development, or professional development programs for business professionals.
• Experience coaching managers, executives, entrepreneurs, or professionals on presentations, writing, interpersonal communication, leadership communication, persuasion, negotiation, conflict management, or stakeholder communication.
• At least three years of university teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate level, including face-to-face and online course delivery.
• Demonstrated ability to integrate relevant and applicable business experience into business communication instruction.
• Experience working with corporate partners, executives, managers, entrepreneurs, or professional clients.
• Ability to support graduate-level instruction, executive education, certificate programs, corporate training, or other professional-facing initiatives within the college.
• Experience and ability to teach other management courses if needed.
