This facility provides cardiovascular anesthesia services and maintains the clinical infrastructure and established protocols necessary to support adult cardiac surgical cases in an inpatient and operating room setting. The facility operates with structured day shift coverage and requires a monthly coverage range of 5 to 12 days. Clinical resources are in place to support quality anesthesia care delivery across the cardiovascular service line.

Houston offers clinicians on assignment a range of cultural and recreational destinations suited to varied interests. Space Center Houston, the official visitor center of NASA's Johnson Space Center, provides interactive exhibits on human space exploration, the opportunity to touch a moon rock, and tours of mission control centers. Additional attractions include the Houston Museum of Natural Science, which features a glass-enclosed butterfly habitat with a simulated rainforest, the Museum of Fine Arts, Tranquility Park, and Discovery Green, offering clinicians diverse options during time away from clinical responsibilities.

The adult cardiac anesthesiologist will provide inpatient and OR anesthesia coverage during 8-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with no call and no weekend requirements. The clinician will manage adult cardiovascular surgical cases with an expected daily patient volume of 25. TEE certification and cardiovascular anesthesia experience are required components of this assignment. Board certification in anesthesiology, an active state license, an active DEA registration, and prescriptive authority are required for consideration.
