BCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated Scanning Operator (Medical/ Healthcare Docs) for an opportunity in Getzville, NY

Location: Getzville, NY

Expected Duration: 6 months with possibility of extension and conversion

Job Type: In person

Pay Rate: $18.50 /hr.

Shift : Monday – Friday, 10:30 AM – 7:00 PM

Job Details:

Responsible for scanning and tracking all mailed claims, review requests, medical records, and member/provider correspondence.

Responsibilities

• Ensure claims are received and sorted correctly for scanning.
• Batch and track all offline, deleted, and pulled claims.
• Understand and follow scanning procedures.
• Monitor system queues to ensure the system is functioning effectively.
• Update the claims control sheet accurately and report unresolved discrepancies to the supervisor.
• Process outgoing mail.
• Archive various documents, records, and requests.
• Lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.

Typical Day

• Receive mail delivered by courier.
• Pre-sort envelopes and tally intake counts.
• Open and sort mail by document type.
• Batch similar documents together.
• Scan documents.
• File completed batches by the end of each business day.

Performance Expectations

• Open 80 envelopes per hour.
• Complete 40 scan outputs per hour.
• Scan 15 claim form batches per hour.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1+ years of administrative or office experience.
• Microsoft Windows operating system familiarity.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to ask questions and learn through on-the-job training.

Work Environment

• Onsite position in a secure HIPAA-compliant facility.
• Independent work within a team environment.
• Team members are cross-trained to support different functions.
• Workload fluctuates throughout the week, with Monday, Thursday, and Friday being the busiest days.
