As a Generator Data Center Commissioning Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful installation, testing, and commissioning of generator systems within data center environments. This role involves verifying system performance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring compliance with design specifications and industry standards to guarantee reliable backup power for critical infrastructure.

Primary responsibilities include performing commissioning activities for generator systems, conducting functional and performance testing, reviewing technical drawings, collaborating with engineering teams, documenting commissioning procedures, ensuring compliance with safety standards, providing technical support, assisting in troubleshooting, and integrating communications into site BMS/Modbus.

Additional responsibilities may include obtaining a CDL license if required, participating in required safety programs, and performing additional duties as assigned by the manager.

To be successful in this position, you should have a strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, knowledge of tools applicable to the position, and the desire to learn. You should possess a strong sense of urgency and desire to provide superior customer service. The ability to take direction and work in a team environment is essential to this position as well.

Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred. 3+ years in generator systems, power distribution, or data center commissioning preferred.

Required qualifications/skills include familiarity with diesel and gas generator systems, load banks, and control systems; strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems; ability to read and interpret technical documentation; proficiency in using diagnostic tools and commissioning software; ability to work in data center environments and outdoors as needed; lift up to 50 lbs. and perform tasks requiring standing, bending, and climbing; willingness to travel to project sites as required.

Preferred qualifications/skills include NFPA 70E, OSHA safety training, or manufacturer-specific generator certifications.
