Software Engineer III, Infrastructure, Google Cloud Networking

Build features and improve infrastructure to support scaling Load Balancing products to meet the needs of our Google Cloud Platform customers.Contribute to projects involving hardware qualification, low-level software integration, optimizing system performance, and enhancing our fleet management capabilities. Examples of team projects include Vendor-on-Net, Borgification (off-net and on-net), and XT-ToR.Collaborate with team members and cross-functional partners (e.g., hardware vendors, SRE teams, service owners) to deliver on project goals.Improve system reliability, performance, security, and scalability across a large, distributed fleet.Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve software systems and features, primarily using C++, Python, and Go.Minimum qualifications:Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.2 years of experience with software development with C++, Python, or Go programming language. 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.Preferred qualifications:Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.Understanding of computer architecture, server hardware, networking basics (e.g., switches, routers), out-of-band management.Familiarity with Linux environments and system-level programming concepts.Interest in distributed systems, operating systems, or low-level software.Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.Google Cloud's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another.
