Loan Officer
The Loan Officer I is responsible for evaluating, processing, and administering consumer, commercial, real estate, and other credit-related loan applications. This position develops new business opportunities, analyzes creditworthiness, ensures compliance with lending policies, and maintains strong customer relationships while managing a loan portfolio.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review, process, close, and administer loan applications and proposals.
- Interview applicants and obtain required information and documentation.
- Analyze financial statements, credit reports, collateral, and property evaluations to determine loan feasibility.
- Correspond with applicants, creditors, and other parties to resolve questions and obtain additional information.
- Approve loans within authorized limits or submit recommendations to the appropriate approval authority.
- Ensure loan documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with bank policies and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and manage loan portfolio performance.
- Develop new lending and deposit relationships through business development and marketing efforts.
- Identify potential loan markets and cultivate prospective customers.
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain professional relationships with clients.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; or One to two years of related banking, lending, sales, or financial services experience; or Equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business documents, professional publications, and regulations. Ability to prepare reports, correspondence, and other business communications. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers, management, and the public.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to calculate interest, percentages, commissions, discounts, and related financial figures. Ability to apply basic algebraic and geometric concepts.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to evaluate information, solve practical problems, and make sound decisions in situations with limited standardization. Ability to interpret written, verbal, and diagrammatic instructions.
Computer Skills:
Proficiency in banking databases, spreadsheet applications, word processing software, and related business systems.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to: Sit, use hands, reach, talk, and hear. Frequently walk and occasionally stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly, up to 25 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Possesses close and distance vision necessary to perform job functions.
