Travel Radiology Technologist

Technologist Profession: Technologist Specialty: Nuclear Medicine Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Monday-Friday Hours per Shift: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: Registered in Nuclear Medicine with the ARRT or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) Certifications: BLS, ARRT Must-Have: Graduation from an AMA-approved school of nuclear medicine

Description: Responsible for performing all aspects of patient exam activities in nuclear medicine at a technical level. Produces high-quality images consistent with established policies and procedures under general supervision. Specializes in performing diagnostic studies in nuclear medicine imaging. Obtains patient history, explains standard procedures, and addresses patient concerns to foster a sense of comfort and confidence. Ensures the needs of individual patients are met. Operates and maintains all assigned nuclear scanning imaging equipment to ensure functionality. Performs diagnostic studies, including measuring and preparing concentrations of radioactive isotopes in specified body areas. Obtains diagnostic information that correctly captures the images requested by a physician. Properly identifies, prepares, and/or administers medications and substances within the technologist's scope of practice as prescribed. Completes quality assurance processes and practices radiation safety to reduce exposure for patients, staff, and self. Complies with all regulatory laws, standards, and protocols. Maintains all required documentation, logs, charts, forms, and records in both paper and electronic formats. Maintains an adequate supply of all consumables necessary for quality testing. Performs routine daily, weekly, monthly, and periodic maintenance and function checks for all imaging equipment. May assist in other areas of radiology as assigned. Performs other related duties as required and directed.
