Job Details Position Type: Travel Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical-Surgical Telemetry (Med/Surg Tele) Location: Madison, WI 53792 Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130 - $2,250 Assignment Length: 13 weeks Start Date: 10/12/2026 Shift Duration: 12-hour rotating shifts Shift Schedule: Day/Night rotations, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM and 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM Estimated Schedule: 36 hours per week Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend rotation Orientation: 20 hours Setting: Adult Med/Surg Telemetry unit Job Requirements Active Registered Nurse (RN) license Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty Experience starting IVs required Current BLS certification through AHA required Epic charting experience required Telemetry experience and ability to successfully pass a telemetry exam prior to start Strong clinical skills in medical-surgical nursing and telemetry nursing Ability to work rotating day/night shifts and weekends as scheduled Comfort caring for a diverse adult and geriatric patient population Willingness to float as needed Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with a variety of medical and surgical conditions Monitor telemetry rhythms and respond appropriately to changes in patient status Start and maintain IVs, manage central access, and support medication administration Deliver care for patients requiring wound care, oxygen therapy, feeding tube management, and dysrhythmia monitoring Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Epic Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, PT, radiology, phlebotomy, and rapid response teams Support a safe, respectful environment while caring for patients with a range of complex needs Float to other areas as needed based on unit and patient care demands Successfully complete required telemetry testing before assignment start Why You’ll Love the Location Madison’s 53792 area offers the energy of a thriving university city with beautiful lakes, parks, local dining, and an active community feel.
