Responsible for performing postal duties in the mailroom requiring familiarity with rules regulations policies and procedures in compliance with Management & Training
Corporation (MTC) and customer directives.

What you will do
- Process all incoming and outgoing detainee correspondence prepare forms and maintain records and files related to detainee correspondence.
- Sort open inspect and scan detainee correspondence. Maintain related records. Deliver detainee mail.
- Act as authorized courier for receipt of registered special delivery or other mails received for employees and/or detainees.
- Sort departmental mail.
- Provide information and responses to inquiries regarding routine mailroom procedures.
- Maintain contact with US Postal Service personnel and private mail carriers (i.e. UPS Federal Express etc.).
- Operate postal equipment and ascertain postage needed.
- Assist in preparing various forms related to the processing of detainee correspondence and mailroom functions.
- Deliver outgoing mail each afternoon to the post office.
- Requires regular pushing and pulling of mail carts.
What you will need
- High school diploma or GED and computer proficiency required
- US Citizenship or Lawful US Permanent Resident required.
- One (1) year of previous experience dealing with mail or in a mailroom setting highly desired.
- Must successfully complete preservice training.
- Valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record required unless waived by management.
