Warehouse Associate II – Shipping DepartmentThis full-time Warehouse Associate II role in the Shipping department operates Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. You support warehouse and packaging operations in a roasting and manufacturing facility, focusing on picking, packing, inventory handling, and safe equipment use. Forklift experience is preferred but not required, as training will be provided. The position involves RF scanner use, manual packing of coffee, and adherence to food safety and Good Manufacturing Practices.ResponsibilitiesPick and package online, subscription, wholesale, and retail coffee orders accurately and efficiently.Weigh out and manually package 4 lb coffee bags according to established procedures.Use WMS RF scanners to receive, put away, and move inventory throughout the warehouse.Receive equipment and supplies into the warehouse and ensure they are properly documented and stored.Operate forklifts, manual and electric pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely after training.Perform inventory checks and cycle counts to maintain accurate stock levels.Report maintenance issues promptly to the supervisor to ensure equipment and facility remain in good working order.Follow all Safety and OSHA processes, procedures, and regulations while performing daily tasks.Follow Food Safety (FSMA) processes, procedures, and regulations, including Good Manufacturing Practices.Complete daily cleaning of work areas, document activities on checklists, and maintain manufacturing housekeeping standards.Participate in continuous improvement and 5S projects as directed to enhance efficiency and organization.Contribute to a positive work atmosphere by communicating and behaving professionally with customers, suppliers, and co-workers.Work productively in a dynamic environment, maintaining high levels of accuracy and throughput.Support shipping and receiving activities, including labeling, palletizing, and staging orders.Perform other projects and duties as assigned to support overall warehouse and production operations.Essential Skills2–4 years of previous experience in a medium to large warehouse and/or packaging environment.Forklift experience preferred; willingness to complete forklift training and operate equipment safely.Experience using RF scanners and WMS systems for inventory, picking, and shipping tasks.Background in shipping and receiving, picking, material handling, and pallet jack operation.Ability to work with direct-to-consumer (DTC), wholesale, and retail order fulfillment processes.Strong attention to detail with consistent adherence to guidelines, policies, and procedures.Demonstrated productivity and action-driven work style in a fast-paced warehouse setting.Ability to thrive in a changing environment and adapt to new processes or priorities.Proven teamwork skills with professional, positive communication and behavior.Good command of English language skills, both written and oral.Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, and multiplication.Ability to work a variety of shifts and maintain a flexible schedule.Ability to stand and move for long periods of time (6–8 hours).Ability to use fingers and hands, reach, and bend down for extended periods (4–6 hours).Ability to move about on foot for long distances or between work sites within the facility.Physical capability to move pallets weighing up to 1500 lbs using manual or electric pallet jacks.Visual acuity sufficient for reading labels, operating scanners, and performing detailed tasks.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oakland, CA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.50 - $19.50/hr.Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
