TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Oncology RN in New Orleans, Louisiana, 70121!

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Oncology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in specialty required License: Compact or relevant state license required Certifications: BLS ACLS Must-Have: Epic experience required Previous charge experience preferred Description: Travelers are welcome. The unit has a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio. There is a float requirement with weekend coverage every other week. The patient population includes hematology, medical oncology, and bone marrow transplant. The unit has a 7-bed positive pressure wing for bone marrow transplant and acute leukemia patients. Bedside CVC placements and bone marrow biopsies will be performed. Equipment used includes Alaris IV pumps integrated with the charting system, barcode medication administration, and SCD machines. Skills required include accessing and managing ports, administration of chemotherapy, and blood product administration. Additional skills include central line blood draw, colostomy and ileostomy management, and IV management. Candidates should also have experience in monitoring chemotherapy and telemetry. This position involves working with an interdisciplinary support team. Key patient diagnoses are cancer-related, including hematology and oncology cases. Special procedures performed include chemotherapy infusion and bone marrow transplant. This position requires managing patients with renal failure and spinal cord injuries. All candidates must be comfortable with emergency team assignments as needed.
