Senior Principal Legal Counsel position supporting Medtronic's Global Operations & Supply Chain division. The role provides strategic legal advice and leads complex commercial negotiations for direct sourcing, contract manufacturing, and supplier relationships across multiple locations with up to 25% travel.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic legal counsel to Direct Sourcing, Contract Manufacturing, and Global Technical Sourcing teams
- Draft and negotiate complex commercial agreements covering supply, manufacturing, technology, and licensing arrangements
- Advise business leaders on supplier performance, intellectual property, contractual risk, and commercially viable solutions
- Lead complex supplier negotiations involving new technologies, development arrangements, and long-term commitments
- Resolve supplier disputes and performance issues through negotiation and settlement strategies
Requirements
- Juris Doctorate and 8+ years of relevant legal experience
- Active law license in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
- Demonstrated expertise drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements
- Proven ability to independently lead sophisticated negotiations and advise on contractual and operational risk
- Experience in procurement, sourcing, manufacturing, or supply chain legal matters
- Background in medical device, life sciences, healthcare, or regulated industry preferred
