Depot Technician I

This job opening is not eligible for immigration/work visa sponsorship Depot Technician Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions is seeking Depot Technicians who will be responsible for performing bench repairs on Toshiba point of sale equipment, as well as equipment from other manufacturers. This includes (but is not limited to) printers, displays, system units and individual components. The facility performs repairs on customer‑owned equipment in a fast‑paced environment requiring the highest possible levels of quality and consistency. The role may also include training new staff, performing system‑based administrative duties, and basic work area maintenance such as restocking inventory, cleaning, and material removal. Responsibilities: Diagnose and repair point of sale computer equipment Use host‑based systems to report work performed and parts used Perform high quality work and maintain accurate records Train new employees on repair and system‑based tasks Demonstrate teamwork within the Repair Center Learn and observe all safety procedures Perform pick/pack/ship of components Maintain a clean and orderly work area Required Skills: Minimum 1 year experience in electronics repair or assembly General ability to follow and perform testing scripts Ability to accurately record/document process activity, receipts, parts usage, status, shipping info Good knowledge of hand tools and ability to perform repairs on small product components Strong organizational and process‑driven skills Ability to work in a team environment Ability to perform accurately with high quality results Ability for high output and quality performance Preferred Skills: Experience working in a computer hardware repair environment Physical Demands: Lifting up to 50 lbs without assistance Standing/Walking activities encountered during 90% of the normal work day Stooping/Bending/Squatting activities encountered frequently Reaching activities conducted frequently and repetitively throughout the work day Twisting activities may be required depending on the position of the employee while performing duties This is a full‑time position located in our Durham TriCenter. No travel is required. Overtime may be required when necessary. Hours can fall between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Typical shifts are either 7 a.m.–4 p.m. or 10 a.m.–7 p.m. Rotational Saturdays are required.
