Job Description HVAC Estimator Aurora, IL | Full-Time | Onsite Work on Projects That Actually Move the Needle A well-established commercial and industrial mechanical contractor in the Chicagoland market is looking to add an HVAC Estimator to their team.
This is not a churn-and-burn shop. They have a strong pipeline of negotiated and repeat work , long-standing client relationships, and a reputation for delivering high-quality projects across commercial, industrial, and institutional sectors.

- Build accurate and competitive HVAC estimates for plan and spec and design build projects
- Perform detailed takeoffs from drawings and specifications
- Identify scope gaps, risks, and value engineering opportunities
- Work directly with vendors and subcontractors to level pricing
- Assist with conceptual budgets during early project phases
- Collaborate with project managers and leadership on bid strategy
- Support project turnover to operations once awarded
- 3+ years of mechanical or HVAC estimating experience
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, piping, and sheet metal
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Experience with Bluebeam, Trimble, or similar tools
- Someone who can manage multiple bids without losing attention to detail
- Competitive base salary plus bonus potential
