Registered Nurse - PACU

Schedule
Shift: Variable - Shifts vary between 8, 10, and 12 hours and can include Days, Evenings, Nights, and Weekends/Holidays.

Assignment Details
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Guaranteed Hours: Not guaranteed

Requirements
- Valid nursing license within the state of practice
- 2+ years of experience as a critical care RN (e.g., ER & ICU) may be accepted as a substitute for PACU nurse experience
- Valid BLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) credential recommended
- Specialty-related certifications (e.g., NIHSS, TNCC) preferred

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide care for patients in the pre-operative and post-anesthesia recovery phases.
- Assess incision sites, monitor body temperature, and track other indicators of stability or complications.
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge of anesthesiology and the care of patients in Phase I recovery.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Utilize critical thinking skills to respond to patient needs effectively.

Compliance / Notes
- Must apply for a State of HI license upon acceptance of the offer if not currently held.
- Proof of flu vaccination or an approved application for medical or religious exception required prior to contract start date.
- Must arrive the Thursday before the start to attend an employee health appointment on Friday.
