A community-based hospital in Dickinson, North Dakota is seeking a Locums Orthopedic Surgery Physician to provide 24-hour call coverage for a two-week assignment. This opportunity offers a broad orthopedic practice in a supportive rural healthcare setting, with responsibilities including surgical coverage, fracture management, emergency consultations, and inpatient orthopedic care.


The ideal candidate is comfortable managing a wide range of orthopedic conditions and procedures and is available to provide comprehensive call coverage throughout the assignment period.

• Coverage Type: Inpatient, Emergency Department consults, and Surgical Coverage

• Provide 24-hour orthopedic surgery call coverage
• Evaluate and manage orthopedic injuries and conditions
• Perform operative and non-operative orthopedic procedures
• Respond to emergency department consultations
• Round on orthopedic inpatients as needed
• Collaborate with emergency medicine physicians, hospitalists, nursing staff, and rehabilitation teams
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the EMR

• Operative management of orthopedic injuries
• Inpatient orthopedic consultations and follow-up care

• MD or DO required
• Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery highly preferred
• Truly Board Eligible candidates will be considered
• Active North Dakota medical license highly preferred
• Active Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) eligibility accepted
• Current BLS certification required
• Current ACLS certification required
