Description

American Traveler is hiring a Float Cardiac Telemetry RN with 2+ years of experience for a Level I trauma center, requiring float coverage to med-surg departments.

Details

• Works in a 28-bed cardiac telemetry unit caring for all cardiac needs, including post-op care
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:4-6
• Supported by PCTs, a healthcare unit coordinator, virtual sitter monitoring, and monitor techs
• Level I trauma center serving patients of all ages
• Night shift schedule from 18:30-07:00
• Required to float to cardiac telemetry and med-surg departments
• Up to 6 weekend shifts required within a 6-week schedule period

Requirements

• Active RN license (Standard or Compact) in hand
• BLS certification required (must be AHA)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Nursys verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Current license and primary source verification required within 30 days prior to start

Additional Information

• Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols
• Implements and monitors patient care plans, communicating patient condition as appropriate
• Serves as primary coordinator across disciplines for well-coordinated patient care
• Carries out physician and nursing orders
• Assesses and coordinates discharge planning needs with the healthcare team
• Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment
• Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required
• Holiday coverage required if department has a need
• Radius rule applies, allowing local candidates at a reduced rate depending on distance from facility
