Position Overview

Baxter Health is seeking experienced Registered Nurses with a strong passion for Surgical Nursing and Patient Advocacy to join the OR/CVOR team. The department features 13 operating rooms and averages approximately 650 cases per month across a wide range of specialties, including:

• General Surgery
• Orthopedics
• Neurological Surgery
• Cardiovascular Surgery
• Plastics
• Ear, Nose & Throat (ENT)
• Urology
• Gynecological (GYN) Procedures

The facility utilizes advanced surgical technology including:

• DaVinci Surgical Robot
• Navigational Spinal and ENT Surgery Systems
• Hybrid OR for advanced vascular procedures

This role requires collaboration within a highly skilled interdisciplinary surgical team focused on evidence-based patient care and advocacy.

Schedule & Call Requirements

• Start Date: Early July
• On-Call Required
  • Weekday Nights: 2+ nights per week (depending on staffing)
  • Every Third Weekend: Friday/Saturday/Sunday

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for assigned surgical patients
• Deliver leadership and support within the nursing team
• Utilize the nursing process to:
  • Assess
  • Diagnose
  • Plan
  • Implement
  • Evaluate patient care plans
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Promote evidence-based practice within a healing culture for patients and families
• Participate within the Shared Governance care model

Requirements

Education

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required
• ADN required
• BSN preferred

Licensure

• Current Arkansas RN License or Compact State RN License in good standing required

Experience

• Minimum 3 years of nursing experience preferred

Certifications

• BLS required
• ACLS encouraged, but not required
• PALS encouraged, but not required
• COVID-19 Vaccine Required- Medical Exemptions, Religious Exemptions, and Declinations Allowed
• Flu Vaccine Required- Medical Exemptions, Religious Exemptions, and Declinations Allowed

Additional Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively
• Basic computer knowledge required
